The Random Telly Viewings of a Trainbasher

A flash into Pakistani culture

I love watching this film. I must admit that the flash into Pakistani culture is quite interesting, especially as it is set in 1971 Salford.

I can’t remember the first time I watched this film, but every time that Film4 show it, I find I must watch it, mainly because of the acting prowess from Om PuriLinda Bassett and Jimi Mistry

The film does have several iconic scenes in it, such as the one pointed out on Twitter by SouthAsianVoices

The film does have its critics though.

Love it or hate it though, I find it is always a must watch
